Propel is a new solar financing program Sunbridge Solar now offers through CED Greentech. It gives you 34.2% off at the time of sale, then rolls the remainder into a long-term, fixed-payment loan you can pay off any time with no prepayment penalty. Propel is available to homeowners in both Washington and Oregon.

November in Washougal means short days, steady rain and a lot of time indoors looking at the power bill. It is also the season when homeowners around Camas, Vancouver and Portland start asking us the same question: with the federal solar tax credit gone, does solar still make sense? Propel is a big part of our answer.

What is the Propel solar financing program?

Propel is a financing option Sunbridge Solar offers homeowners through CED Greentech. It works in a way similar to a solar lease, but the contract is called an energy services agreement. The headline feature is simple: you get 34.2% off right at the time of sale, and the rest of the cost goes into a long-term, fixed-payment loan.

Propel was introduced in 2026 by SolSource Solutions and TriBeam Financial, with Greentech Renewables, a division of CED, as a distribution partner, according to the companies’ launch announcement on Business Wire.

SolSource owns the system at first, and you have the option to take ownership after year five, subject to the agreement terms.

Why does Propel matter now that the federal solar tax credit has expired?

The federal residential solar tax credit has ended for homeowners. The IRS states that the Residential Clean Energy Credit is not available for any property placed in service after December 31, 2025.

That left many Washington and Oregon homeowners thinking the math on solar had changed for good. Propel is built to bring that benefit back in a different form. Instead of waiting until tax season to claim a credit on your own return, Propel gives you the benefit instantly at the time of purchase, as 34.2% off at the time of sale.

That also means you do not need a large federal tax bill to use it. Every household’s tax picture is different, so talk with a tax professional about how any solar purchase fits your situation.

How do the 34.2% discount and the loan work?

With Propel, Sunbridge Solar applies the 34.2% discount at the time of sale and the remaining balance rolls into a long-term, fixed-payment loan. Here is how it plays out, step by step:

  1. Design. We size a system for your roof and your power use, using the qualifying made-in-America equipment listed below.
  2. Discount at signing. You get 34.2% off right at the time of sale.
  3. Loan for the rest. The remaining balance rolls into a long-term, fixed-payment loan.
  4. Pay off any time. There are no prepayment penalties, so you can pay the loan down early or pay it off in full whenever you choose.

Credit approval is required. We will walk you through the current terms during your consultation.

What equipment qualifies for Propel?

Propel requires made-in-America domestic content products. Sunbridge Solar installs Propel systems with three domestic content components:

ComponentProduct used on Propel systems
Solar modules (panels)REC 460
MicroinvertersEnphase IQ8X
RackingIronRidge

All three use domestic content SKUs, meaning the specific product versions that meet the made-in-America requirement. A microinverter is a small inverter mounted under each panel that converts that panel’s power for your home, so a shaded panel under a Douglas fir does not drag down the rest of the array.

Propel covers solar plus battery systems, and Enphase supplies the qualifying battery, so Enphase battery backup can be added.

Is Propel a good fit for my home in Camas, Vancouver or Portland?

Propel is a good fit for Camas, Vancouver and Portland homeowners who want solar but would rather not pay the full price up front. It tends to suit you if:

  • You were counting on the federal tax credit and felt shut out when it ended.
  • You want a lower starting cost through the 34.2% discount at the time of sale.
  • You like the freedom to pay the loan off early with no prepayment penalty.
  • You are comfortable with the REC, Enphase and IronRidge equipment that Propel requires.

If you would rather pay cash or use a different equipment lineup, we will walk through those options too. You can compare cash and Propel side by side on our solar financing page. Sunbridge does no-pressure sales, so the goal of a consultation is to find what fits, not to push one product.

Why choose a local installer for Propel financing?

A local installer like Sunbridge Solar designs Propel systems for Pacific Northwest conditions: gray winters, tall evergreens and roofs that face every direction. A financing program is only as good as the system it pays for, and cookie-cutter designs often miss shading and seasonal production here.

Sunbridge brings 15+ years of experience across NW Oregon and SW Washington, including the Columbia River Gorge. We are Energy Trust of Oregon verified, back our work with a 10-year craft warranty and 25-year product warranties, and a typical home install takes one to three days on site. Solar incentives change every year, and state and utility programs can shift between quarters. If Propel interests you, it pays to get your design and paperwork moving early. You can also review current Oregon and Washington solar incentives that may apply alongside it.
