The $1,000 Camas and Washougal Local Solar Discount

Sunbridge Solar takes $1,000 off installations in Camas and Washougal. What the local discount is, why being close by makes it possible, and how to get it.

Table of Contents

We are based in Washougal. Camas is next door. Jobs in these two towns genuinely cost us less to run: shorter drives, fewer trips, and crews that already know the permit desks. That difference reaches the price rather than the margin.

This page explains where that difference actually comes from, so you can judge it against any other quote you are holding.

The discount, stated plainly

  • $1,000 off your installation.
  • Camas and Washougal addresses. Both towns, same amount.
  • No code, no form. It is priced into the quote for a qualifying address.

That is the whole offer. The rest of this page explains why we can do it, because a discount you cannot account for is one you should be skeptical of.

Why proximity changes the price at all

It is not a promotion and not a limited-time gimmick. A project fifteen minutes from our shop genuinely costs less to deliver than one ninety minutes out: less drive time, cheaper return visits, no travel built into every service call for the life of the system. The discount is that difference, handed back.

What “local” actually means here

Not a marketing radius, but actual drive time from our shop in Washougal. Camas is next door and Washougal is home, and that shows up in four concrete places:

  • Crew travel. A crew that is on your roof at 7:30 rather than 8:45 gets more done in a day, and you are not paying for the difference.
  • Return visits. Almost every project needs at least one unplanned trip back. Fifteen minutes away and ninety minutes away are very different costs.
  • Permit familiarity. We file in Camas and Washougal constantly. Knowing what a specific plans examiner wants to see is worth real time on the first submission, and a first submission that passes is the single biggest lever on your timeline.
  • Service life. A system lasts decades. Being close by is not just an install-day advantage. It is every service call for the next twenty-five years.

How the difference shows up in a quote

It shows up as a lower delivered price, not as a coupon. The honest way to check it is to ask any installer to break a quote into equipment, labor, permitting and overhead, and then compare like for like against a company driving in from further out.

It comes off the installation price in the written quote, so you can see where the difference actually sits rather than taking a headline number on trust.

What it does and does not change

This is the part that generates the most questions, so here it is plainly.

With your utility

It is entirely separate. We are not a utility and this is not a utility program, so nothing about it touches your net metering arrangement or your rate.

With state and federal incentives

It is a reduction in what you pay us, not a government incentive, so it is not competing with anything you claim elsewhere. Note that the federal residential solar credit is no longer available for new residential systems, so any quote you are holding that still shows a 30% federal credit is out of date. That is worth checking before you compare offers. We explain the current position here.

With financing

If you are financing, the discount reduces the financed amount, which reduces total interest as well as principal. That is a slightly larger benefit than the headline number suggests.

How to check it

Ask. There is no code word and no form. Pricing for a Camas or Washougal address is what it is, and it is in the written quote. What is worth doing is comparing that quote against one from a company based further out, itemized the same way, so you can see where the difference actually sits.

What stays the same

The equipment, the warranty, the crew and the design work do not change. There is no cheaper local tier. It is the same project at a lower price because the project is close to home.

And if you are not in Camas or Washougal

We install across Clark County, Cowlitz County and the Portland metro, and quotes elsewhere are priced normally. The reason this discount is specific to two towns is that the underlying cost difference is specific to two towns. We would rather be precise about that than invent a version of it for everywhere.

Do you offer a discount for Camas and Washougal homeowners?

Yes. Because we are based in Washougal, projects in these two towns cost less to deliver and we pass part of that saving back. Eligibility is based on the property address.

Can the local discount be combined with other incentives?

Yes. It is a reduction in what you pay us rather than a government program, so it does not compete with anything else you may be claiming.

Is there a catch or a minimum system size?

The terms are set out on this page rather than buried in a contract. If any minimum or condition applies, it is stated up front and it appears in the written quote.

Does the discount affect my warranty or equipment?

No. Same equipment, same warranty, same crew, same design process. The only thing that changes is the price.

Is the federal 30% solar tax credit still available?

Not for new residential systems. Any quote still showing a 30% federal residential credit is out of date, and it is worth confirming the current position before comparing offers.

I live just outside Camas or Washougal. Do I qualify?

Eligibility is by property address. If you are close to the boundary, ask. It takes one check, and we would rather tell you straight away than have you wonder.
